Her Story

More than a consultant.
A true practitioner.

Sarah Scrivens grew up in education — not as an observer, but as someone who has occupied every role that matters. She started as a classroom teacher in Title I schools in Plano, Texas, serving low-income families with complex home lives. She didn't just survive those years — she thrived, and the lessons she learned about relationships, culture, and the power of a united staff have shaped everything she does today.

As a licensed Texas Childcare Director for five years, Sarah led programs from the inside — managing staff, navigating state licensing, building curriculum frameworks, and doing the daily work of keeping teachers motivated and children thriving. She knows what directors face because she faced it herself.

Her two years as an Early Childhood Consultant at Region 10 ESC took her across 50+ public, private, and charter school campuses throughout Dallas-Fort Worth — coaching and mentoring over 100 teachers and administrators. She saw firsthand the gaps that exist when programs don't have access to the Texas Pre-K Guidelines, and she made it her mission to change that.

Today, through Building Brains Consulting LLC, Sarah brings all of it together — the classroom experience, the director lens, the curriculum expertise, and the keynote stage — to serve early childhood programs, school districts, and families across Texas and beyond.
